Thoughts Of Christmas

When I think about Christmas Morning,

The gaily wrapped gifts and the tree;

Bring to mind a gift so preious,

And all He was ment to be.

When I look at the tree Christmas morning,

The lights that twinkle and glow;

I think of the manger in Bethlehem,

Of a babe born a night long ago.

When I see the joy Christmas morning,

The faces so filled with delight;

I think of the bright shiny star,

That guided the Wisemen that night.

As we meet together Christmas morning,

To celebrate anew the birth;

The coming of the Prince of Peace,

Is the greatest gift on earth.

I love Christmas, it's my favorite time of year.

It's a time for Christmas bakeing, decorating the tree and house, buying gifts for people we love and getting together with family and friends.

But.. it wasn't always this way. When I was a child of about 5 , we lived on a farm. My Dad was very sick and there was no money for food let alone presents.

Kids being kids we hung our stocking on Christmas eve because we new Santa would fill them. To our suprise they were still empty in the morning.All of us very sadly took our socks down except for my brother Andy. He was sure Santa missed our place and would be back. He waited 4 days and on the 5th he found a piece of coal in his sock. Needless to say that ended his friendship with Santa. Years later we found out Dad put the coal in his sock so Andy would stop waiting. But a lot of good came out of that Christmas too. On Christmas Eve we heard caroling outside of our house. When we went out the Menonites were there singing and they brought with them all we could have ever wanted for Christmas dinner. God Bless Them.
